Recovering slowly from a nasty chest infection, these blooms are the only ones in my arena at the moment. They are reincarnations (no pun intended, being lotus flowers and not carnations!) and the original images of 18th century botanical illustrations can be seen at the Victoria and Albert museum. Travellers often were prompted to draw tropical flowers , before the introduction of photography. I wanted to invigorate the images by lifting them onto coloured backgrounds.
